Portrait distorted through textured glass — a camera study in light and texture

Turning distortion into a visual language.

Camera Skills is an ongoing personal photography study of light, texture and distortion. Photographed through layered glass, water and condensation, the portraits become half-seen — atmospheric, tactile and open to interpretation.

The series applies the same restraint found in my graphic work: a controlled palette, soft focus and abstract surfaces carry the image, leaving space for the viewer to complete the picture.

Water & Glass — photography study
Water & GlassCondensation and droplets act as a second lens, fragmenting the reflection into repeating ridges of light across the skin.
Textured Glass — photography study
Textured GlassA dense, bubbled surface breaks the portrait into abstract shapes — identity suggested rather than stated, colour doing the work.
